Tangerine Queen.

Fortunately this isn’t a post about fake tan – that’s a little beyond my area of expertise. I’m sure I’ll master it one day. It is, in fact, a post all about one of my favourite colours of the summer: tangerine orange. It was Pantone’s colour of the year LAST year but we didn’t see anywhere near enough of it, so I’m single-handedly attempting to bring it back. It’s an extremely underrated colour: it’s bright, summery and despite what people think it doesn’t only look good with a tan, it’s great on most people. So here we go.

b08f2c3730ab114813c411fd2d55a5d0There, doesn’t it make you think of summer?!

  • Denim shorts – H&M, £7.99
  • Strappy sandals – Topshop, £28
  • Tote bag – Paul’s Boutique, £85
  • Giraffe print skirt – Topshop, £20
  • Bikini – H&M, £7.98 (£3.99 each)
  • Satchel – The Cambrige Satchel Co. ASOS Exclusive, £110
  • Belt – ASOS, £15
  • Link necklace – ASOS, £18
  • ‘Madness’ nail polish – NARS, £14.50
  • Crocodile earrings – ASOS, £18
  • Skinny belt – ASOS, £6
  • Scuba prom dress – River Island, £60
  • Structured blazer – French Connection, £110
  • ‘Orangeade’ lipstick – Models Own, £6
  • Crop cami – Topshop, £15
  • Strappy heels – Zara, £29.99
  • Maxi dress – Topshop, £18
  • Skinny stretch jeans – Uniqlo, £29.90
  • Embellished playsuit – Miss Selfridge, £42

And there we have it – my top picks of the current tangerine offerings on the high street. The H&M shorts are an absolute bargain and they have then in about 10 different colours (ish); the giraffe skirt gets about 5 trends in one and does it well; the Cambridge satchel’s blatantly coral rather than tangerine but it’s so pretty I couldn’t miss it out; I need both the chevron necklace and the crocodile earrings ridiculous amounts; the lipstick looks like a dead ringer for Mac Morange; the heels go without saying and that playsuit is b-e-a-uuutiful. Oh, and Zara also have a gorgeous blazer for £49.99 (blazers are an investment. Even orange ones) if £110 is too much to stretch to. Or you could get both, y’know.
